- It is a fixed oil obtained from unroasted sesame seeds by cold pressing technique. Its golden yellow color, heavy flow and low odor indicate its naturalness. Sesame seeds (Sesami semen) are rich in lignans. Other important substances in its structure are Sesamol, a strong antioxidant, Sesamin, Sterols and Vitamin E.
- It is used as an additive in salads, mayonnaise, sauces and olive oil dishes due to its special flavor.
- Sesame oil is widely used in Ayurvedic practices. It is also used as a massage oil, especially in aromatherapy.
